Tropes: workplace romance, forced proximity, secret crush, angsty, slowburn
At the moment, I am in a long-term sub position so reading can be a little hard BUT I would sneak in reading whenever I could. LUCKILY this past week was state testing so I had a little downtime to crack open the Kindle and read while the students were testing. One thing I forgot about Max Monroe books is how much you laugh out loud when you read them. So to the students, I probably looked absolutely crazy when I read a certain scene with a squirrel involved and laughed out loud!
This story was absolutely wonderful, I love Brook and Chase, and the friendship they had and the sexual tension they had was everything! Chase was perfect with all his imperfections, he was such a lovable character and I loved the way he admired Brook.
