This story kept on giving until the last sentence. It took me a while to get into the book but once I got into it, I could not put it down. It was a story of friendship, love, money and greed. It touches on so many huge subjects that we have been going through in the world.
The end of summer street party is approaching and that means all the women are coming together to make this event the best ever. As the first half of the novel is before the party we get to know the women. The second half is the after party. But the aftermath is where friendships are tested. Everyone saw something different, so who does each person believe if it is one person's word against another.
It is a story that shows what lengths some are willing to go to to protect others. It is a story full of secrets that keep piling up. By the end of the novel all the loose ends are tied up and the ending is perfect. This was the first novel I have read by Clair Seeber and I am glad that this was my first because it was a story that kept on giving.
